Why are all the comic pages square?

This comic was originally made with instagram sizing requirements in mind (instagram likes 1080x1080 square images). Instagram also has a "carousel" feature that allows people to add multiple images to the same post, and then folks can swipe through to view each image. Way back in 2018, I saw some people using this feature to post comics, and I thought it would be so cool if I did the same thing and formatted the pages specifically for this purpose. I don't know if I'll change the format in the future, but right now it remains this way. I like it.

Are you going to print Holly & Macy as a book?

Not right now. I currently can't afford to print books, and I do not think there is enough demand to justify crowdfunding. I like the idea of printing, though, so maybe someday when circumstances change.

Is there a way to read Holly & Macy offline?

Yes. You can download pdf versions of Chapters 1, 2, and 3 on my itch.io page for free. Subsequent chapters will also be available once they're finished.

How do you make the comic?

In a fit of excitement and rage, mostly. While listening to citypop playlists on youtube, or the Deltarune OST. I've always really enjoyed working on longterm projects like this one, so that I know what I'm doing and I always have something to do. I pretty much exclusively draw in photoshop, and I use the Wet Ink brush from this brush pack. Also, I write the scripts in numerous journals and then transcribe/edit them into google docs. Sometimes I feel like the comic is really good and I am god. Other times I complain to Maddie about how the comic is not going well, and then she tells me it's going fine and to keep making it.

Can I draw fanart/write fanfiction of the webcomic?

YEAH SURE! I love to see fanart, so please @ me! If you want to write fic, that's cool too. I understand how fun writing fanfic can be. However, I don't read fanfic of my own characters so there's no need to send it to me. (I don't want to let audience expectations for my characters influence the way I write the story.)

Are any of the characters based on you?

Yes all of them, to some extent. Lila is probably the most like me when I was that age.

When will Holly and Macy get together?

When they're ready.
